Background: About PTCA(I)
The Plant Tissue Culture Association of India [PTCA (I)] is
an elite body of Plant Tissue Culture Scientists, several of whom are pioneers
in this field and while others have established scientific credentials. The
Association today is made up of around 90 members. The annual meeting of the
association is coupled to a three day symposium on a theme related to plant
tissue culture.
PTCA (India) has been providing this unique platform by
facilitating annual congregation of scientists, year after year, for past four
decades. PTCA through National Symposium not only enables peer evaluation of
the ongoing research in the biotechnology area but also provides a closer look
at the criticality of individual researches for collective good by plant
molecular biologists. This platform will provide each of us to understand,
communicate, present and discuss each other's work.
The annual meeting of the association invites aspirants to
membership. Selected aspirants are required to make a presentation and new
members are selected through the votes of the members present at the meeting.
This year’s symposium focuses on Recent Trends in Plant Propagation, Genetic Improvement & Industrial Applications with an India-centric approach.
The event will be held at Arid Forest Research Institute (AFRI) situated in the beautiful historic city of Jodhpur also known as the Sun City which has its known royal legacy. AFRI is a premier research institution of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an autonomous council under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
